Sexual harassment is probably the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about harassment in the workplace. But workplace harassment can take many forms. Although well publicized and often talked about, sexual harassment is just one form of workplace harassment - and a specialized one at that. Much of what is taught in this course can be applied to incidents of sexual harassment. However, this training focuses on helping you to understand the other forms of workplace harassment and inappropriate conduct, which may be based on race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other category protected by law. This course includes the following topics:
1. An explanation that employers have policies that prohibits discriminatory or harassing behavior based on an employee's race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other category protected by law.
2. Harassing or offensive conduct can amount to illegal discrimination; know how to identify inappropriate behavior.
3. Learn how to spot inappropriate conduct, and get the answers to frequently asked questions about a bias-free working environment.
4. Learn about actions to avoid in the workplace.
5. Learn how to respond to discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise offensive conduct; and learn about how employers are to respond to a report of inappropriate behavior.
6. How a manager or supervisor should respond to a report of inappropriate behavior.
By taking this course, supervisors and managers learn how they can help their employer achieve its bias-free workplace objectives.
