Our LMS tracks course/assessment results - why do I need the Analyze product? [Top]
If all you want to store is completion status and "final score" of the assessments in a course - you do not need Analyze. However, if you want to track and report on the individual questions and answers from these assessments (e.g. how many people missed Question 3 on Exam 1) you need Analyze.

Why isn't this individual Question and Answer data stored in my LMS? [Top]
This topic gets technical and complicated very quick but the short answer is that AICC and SCORM standards (which dictate how eLearning and tracking systems "talk to each other") are very vague when it comes to telling LMS or eLearning tools how to store and communicate this kind of data. As a result, each LMS has different means of storing the information - some don't even accept this kind of data.
As opposed to trying to build dozens of "adapters" to the different Learning Management Systems, we provide a completely web-based data warehouse, a standard set of reports, and ability to export your data.

Can I access the Analyze Data from within my LMS? [Top]
Yes. Since the Analyze Data is completely web-based - as long as your LMS can call out to a website - you can add a link to the Analyze data warehouse and access it from within your LMS application.

How do I get my data into CourseAvenue Analyze data warehouse? [Top]
Two easy steps -
- From within the course, check the "Question Tracking Enabled" box then select which assessments you want tracked.
- When the course is ready to be published, select it from your Build catalog loading the assessments into Analyze.
As the assessments are executed the Learners, their data is sent to the Analyze data warehouse.

My courses may have multiple assessments - does all of the data go to the Analyze warehouse? [Top]
It is your choice. Assessments may any combination of scored/un-scored, tracked or un-tracked. In other words, in one case you may have assessments whose "score" does NOT go to the LMS (un-scored) but whose individual responses are sent to Analyze (tracked). In this same course, you may have another assessment score is reported back to the LMS (scored) and whose individual responses are either tracked or un-tracked by Analyze.
-
Can I build custom reports from Analyze data? [Top]
Yes. You can export the data into either Excel or HTML format to "slice and dice" as you see fit.
-
What happens if I update the course and add questions and/or change answers? [Top]
When you are done making updates, you re-load the course into Analyze (step 2 from above). Analyze recognizes that changes were made to the Assessments and marks this as a new "version" of the assessment. As the Learner's execute the new assessment(s) you can compare the results between these two versions.

What kind of problems does Analyze help me solve? [Top]
There are a wide range of applications for the Analyze Data - ranging from surveys to learning analytics (are learners grasping the concepts and improving?). An important application of CourseAvenue Analyze is to assess your assessments. What does that mean? Well - are all the Learners missing the same question? Maybe the question is not phrased right? Maybe the question does not fit the content? Maybe the "answers" are confusing. Additionally - Analyze helps you answer questions like "What are the most missed questions and what were the most often wrong responses".
